Describe your position in a few sentences:听听
I am fortunate to serve as the Acting Vice President of Student Development and get to work with faculty, staff and students in Student Services. As Acting Vice President, it鈥檚 my responsibility to work with faculty members and classified professionals to ensure students have the tools they need to thrive on campus. I also work with managers to ensure our faculty members and classified professionals have the resources they need to be successful in their role.听
As the Title IX Coordinator,听it is my responsibility to reach out to students听飞丑辞听may be involved in a Title IX matter (discrimination, harassment or violence related to sex/gender/dating)听to ensure the Title IX policies are followed. I also represent Oxnard College on the District-Wide Title IX Committee.
How long have you worked for the District?听听
I have worked in the District since 2016.听When I was a student at Oxnard College, I was a听student worker. When I transferred to California Lutheran University to continue my education, I returned to Oxnard College as a听provisional employee and graduate intern.

Yes, I was fortunate to begin my college education at Oxnard College as a dual enrollment student. This was a great introduction to college life, and I continued at OC after high school. I transferred to Cal Lutheran, where I received my bachelor鈥檚 in sociology and master鈥檚 in counseling and guidance. I completed my doctorate at UCLA with a focus on educational leadership in 2021.
When you鈥檙e not working, what do you enjoy doing?听
I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters. We try to look for new adventures and regularly go on weekend getaways. I also enjoy reading and usually read at least one book a week.听I love going to concerts and can鈥檛 wait to get back to seeing my favorite bands in concert.
What do you find rewarding about your job or career?听
I truly love working in education. I have been fortunate to work in higher education in Ventura County and appreciate the opportunity to make an impact in the lives of students. It brings me great joy to be in my community and see my former students succeed.
Do you do any volunteer work? If so, what?听
While I was pursuing my doctorate, I didn鈥檛 have much time to volunteer. I look forward to start finding opportunities to serve my community.
